Terrazzo has an interesting history that dates back hundreds of years, when Venetian workers found a new use for all the off cuts and fragments of marble waste from the marble industry.
The earliest form of Terrazzo, which is derived from the Italian word ‘Terraces’, was used by Venetian marble workers when they began using the waste of marble slabs to decorate their terraces and houses.
Since this time, Terrazzo has evolved into a mixture of marble, cement, glass and resin to create a versatile material for contemporary design and architecture.
